‘Bada Dashain’, the biggest and longest festival observed by Hindus in Nepal began on September 29. The first day of the festival started with the sowing of barley, wheat, maize, paddy seeds and by offering prayers in the temples. It is celebrated by keeping earthen pots at sacred spots in houses or in temples. The shoots sprouted from the seedling are taken out on the 10th day and worn along with 'tika', on final day known as ‘Vijaya Dashami’. | The Times of India
